So Exciting to Hear News From China

Here we are in Tybee Island at the lighthouse. Thank you Joe and RiAna for a wonderful time with you all. So much fun!
We don't have new news about Mei Xiang yet. However, we are thrilled to hear that her three friends, Mei Ru, Mei Ke, and Mei Feng, all age 7 (see previous photo) have all been welcomed into their families with hugs and excitement all around. Their families are in China now. Gotcha day was Monday, and Adoption day Tuesday. These three girls seem to be absolutely thrilled to meet their new families. Excitement reigns. No tears have been shed (except the tears of joy on mothers' faces). Smiles are radiant. Spirits are high. In fact, the amount of energy seems to be the only complaint. These girls are hyper from all the excitement.

The Mei's look healthy and more beautiful than ever. They seem to have learned some English from their tutor - even in the short weeks they had with her. One Mei is already speaking some English sentences, such as, "Mommy I want a banana." She points to many objects and calls them by their English names. Haven't heard how the others are speaking. But in general communication doesn't seem to be a big issue for any of them.

Another interesting comment from one mom -- her Mei seems to speak more Mandarin than Cantonese. We will need to find out more about Mei Xiang and her language so that we can prepare better.

Check back in a few days and I hope to have some updated photos of Mei Xiang and more news, as one mom is traveling back to the orphanage Thursday to visit. Pray that she will be able to visit with Mei Xiang and personally deliver our package to her! Thanks!

Hi! We are the Rollers, we adopted a maomingster in May. Formerly MaoHuanHe is now Gabriella or Gabbie.
Gabbie recently saw your daughter's photo on the shared list with FTIA and screamed with delight MeiXiang! MeiXiang was a very special friend to Gabbie. I think they slept in the same room and ate together. Gabbie is 5 years old and attended the Half the Sky pre-school the last year. I was given 2 scrapbooks of photos and MeiXiang is in 2 or 3 of the photos. I would like to email them to you if possible.
God bless your journey to your daughter and new family of 7!!!! elizabeth - our journey is on Journey to Me... Journey to Gabriella HuanHe
