I am sad to report that after 104 days of waiting, we still have no letter of approval from China. And the agency just checked ... none are on their way. We have no way to know either when it will come or why it is delayed. The only thing we have heard is that there are no specific problems with any of our files. It is beyond my comprehension why China's CCAA doesn't want to get these children into their new homes as quickly as possible. These children know that they are being adopted, and they are forced to wait and wait and wait for no good reason! I am so frustrated with it all.
Somehow another family managed to get to China far ahead of us. Another one of Mei Xiang's friends - another Mei girl (same age as our Mei) - was adopted in China this week. We haven't met this family yet by email but we look forward to hearing from them. What we do know from our guide, Helen, in China, is that this new Mei talked to her about Mei Xiang. She told us that Mei is looking forward to being adopted very soon. She knows that we are supposed to come in November.
Unless we get our LOA next week, we have NO HOPE for getting to China in November ... it will then be December. (Mei's birthday is 12-12 -- we want to have her by then!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Please, please pray. I know there is much to pray for in this day. But please mention Mei in your prayers today!
Thanks!
