Thanks for your continued prayers! Much has happened over the past month. I am sad to report that my Grandma Lucille passed away a few weeks ago, but looking on the positive side of things, she lived a long and full life of 86 years and is now in a better place. Kayla and I attended the funeral in North Carolina and it was so wonderful to see so many relatives! Visiting with them brought fond memories and a longing that we could see each other more often.
Since that time I have suffered shoulder pain that has kept me up at night and hindered my ability to type and work. I'm hanging in there, trying to stay caught up. Your prayers are appreciated! We started school on Monday. Things are going very well.
Today we received a letter from Mei Xiang, telling us thank you for the gifts we have sent and also that she can't wait to meet us. I will try to post the pictures that she drew, too! We are absolutely thrilled to have heard from her! She signed her letter, "Your daughter, Mao Mei Xiang." She said, "I miss you." I can relate to this, even though it makes no logical sense that I could miss someone I've never met. But apparently she and I are in the same boat.
Today we also received our first update from LifeSong. What a blessing to hear that we have raised an additional $1,300 over and above donations that were already in the works when we first signed up. Thank you - especially for your prayers! We have been blessed with so much favor - from free textbooks for school to unexpected checks from neighbors. God has been so good to us! Thank you, God!
Although we have heard nothing more about travel dates, we do expect to hear something in the next few weeks, so please stay tuned. Blessings!
