After much hard work and before leaving on vacation, we completed all the paperwork necessary for our adoption to be formally approved in China. Our agency sent it to China last Friday, and today we received notice that our official log-in date is today, 6-27. We know now that we should hear something from China in the next 2 - 4 months. We're praying for two! From that point it would then be about 6-8 weeks before we travel. This leaves us with our original estimate of timing -- somewhere between Oct and Dec.
Another exciting thing today -- three families are on their way to China to pick up their Mei's from the orphanage. All are 7 years old. One is having her birthday next week, turning 8. These are Mei's friends - one of them her BEST friend, according to the information that we received. Please pray for Mei Xiang over the next week. It'll be so hard on her to say good-bye. Also please pray for the other Mei's being adopted and their families. What a big transistion they are all going to have. Adoption day for them is likely Monday coming up (or Tuesday).
